Lewis Ntaimo, Ph.D.
Dr. Ntaimo is an Assistant Professor in the College of Engineering at Texas &M University. Dr. Ntaimo's research interests are in large-scale stochastic optimization with a focus on decomposition algorithms for stochastic mixed-integer programming; systems modeling & engineering processes; and discrete event modeling & simulation using DEVS. Some recent applications of interest are healthcare systems design, power generation adequacy planning, stochastic facility and resource location/allocation, supply chain inventory planning with private information, modeling & simulation for wildfire spread and containment, and emergency response for wildfire containment under uncertainty.
Dr. Ntaimo’s research interests include: Stochastic integer programming; large-scale computational optimization, Systems modeling and systems engineering processes, Discrete event modeling and simulation using DEVS (discrete event system specification), Dynamic data driven application systems, and Patient service management in health care.
Dr. Ntaimo received a PhD in Systems & Industrial Engineering, an MS in Mining & Geological Engineering, and BS in Mining Engineering from the University of Arizona.
