Deb Medeiros, Ph.D.
Dr. Medeiros is an associate professor of industrial engineering. Her research focus is on the optimization of facilities and operations using process simulation. She also studies scheduling, lean manufacturing, and material flow problems. She is author or co-author of over 60 publications in these areas and has advised 50 MS and PhD students. Her healthcare related research includes simulation of emergency department patient flow, forecasting patient census, and nurse scheduling using auctions and optimization. She is active in the Winter Simulation Conference, having held several positions including Conference Program Chair. She is a Trustee of the WSC Foundation.
