Christopher DeFlitch, M.D.
Dr. DeFlitch is the chief medical information officer (CMIO) of Hershey Medical Center and associate professor of medicine. His focus is core process redesign of medical care delivery system using information systems and industrial engineering principles to challenge traditional notions of practice. His current research and grants includes application of information technology in health care delivery and healthcare engineering.
DeFlitch earned his medical degree in 1994 from Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, Pennsylvania. He served as a resident (1994-97) and chief resident (1996-97) in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts. He has received numerous awards and honors, including being selected as one of America's Top Emergency Medicine Physicians (2007).
